DEPARTMENT:

JOB TITLE:

Executive Director of Business and Support Services

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

     

     A. Education Level:

Master's Degree preferred, or equivalent certifcation  from accredited institution (i.e.Ed Adm, Bus. Adm, School Bus. Mgt, School Finance or Public Finance).

     B. Certification/Licensure:

-  None Required.

     C. Experience Desired:

-  Experience in school financial  and accounting management preferred.

-  Teaching and/or Educational Administrative experience pre-

   ferred.

-  Experience in teacher negotiations preferred.

-  Experience working with state regulations governing food service operations as well as those governing transportation preferred.

-  Experience in management of employee benefits preferred.

     D. Other Requirements:

-  Twelve month work year.

-  Working knowledge of school finance laws and regulations

   related to the business and operation of a school district.

-  Understnading of basic accounting principles and possess ability to perform basic accouting operations.

-  Must have effective communication skills and excellent orgaizational skills.

 

 

REPORTS TO:

-  Superintendent

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

 

 

    Basic:

-  Oversee and manage payroll, finance and budget, pur-

   chasing, food service, transportation, technology, and         

   custodial/maintenance functions of the District.

 

 

    Frequent:

1.  Serve as the supervisor of the District’s payroll function.

2.  Prepare all negotiations materials and serve as the chief

negotiator.

3.  Supervise all employee benefit administration, develop specifications and bid employee benefits.

4.  Serve as the District’s chief financial officer.

5.  Develop and maintain the District’s operating budget.

6.  Supervise the District Treasurer, accounting, and accounts receivable.

7.  Administer the budget control system.

8.  Report financial information to the Board of Education at their monthly meeting.

9.  Develop long range financial plans for the District.

10.  Serve as the District’s liaison at the Legislature.

11.  Develop specifications for bidding purchases.

12.  Supervise accounts payable and maintain records for fixed asset accounting system.

13.  Supervise the Director of Food Service/Transportation and develop long range planning to meet the District’s transportation needs.

14.  Supervise the Director of Facilities and provide long range facility planning.

15.  Develop specifications and bidding of performance contracts.

16.  Supervise the Coordinator of Technology Services.

17.  Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory): Visual and auditory acuity for proper supervisory functions, skills in written and oral communication, and skills in human relations.
