History of NASB Search Services

Since 1918, NASB has gradually evolved from a loose coalition of school board members into the thriving statewide association that it is today. From information and lobbying to training, policy development, insurance, and negotiations software, the organization has continuously expanded services to meet the needs of its members.

In a direct response to our members’ requests for assistance, NASB began a Superintendent Search Program in November of 1982. For more than 25 years, staff has successfully completed 170 searches. The service is carefully designed to provide the board accountability and control throughout the search process. The consultants facilitate a meticulous process profiling district needs, screening applicants, preparing the board for the interview process, and finally laying the groundwork to ensure the success of the newly hired superintendent. We provide the service as part of our continued commitment to foster strong board/superintendent relationships and to enhance school district leadership in Nebraska.
